Background
”The luxuriant vocals from Ogi Ifediora and gospel keys from Julius Tucker that open the single
“CPR” feel as immediate and vital as any current soul-influenced single.” – Read the full review from the Chicago Reader
Listening Is my first attempt to do an album of mostly vocal songs. After having worked with so many fantastic singer / songwriters and rappers, I wanted to craft something more direct. I’m very proud of the company that joined me on this memorable album. The theems of the songs deal with things as direct as the loss of a loved one and as abstract as the internal tension between wanting desperately to find community while also enjoying spending lots of time with my own thoughts.
